Parents & students…coming up this week is: Early Dismissal, West Central MO Spelling Bee, the Art Show, several field trips, 5th Grade Dare ceremony, 4-H, FCA and the 3rd Grade Wax Museum;  please see below.  Remember that all current and future events can be found on the school website: www.clintonacademy.org, under the calendar menu. We have some reminders that we would like to let you know about:

 

*Missions Days are the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month ONLY.  The last mission day is Friday, May 19th.

*4-H…will be Friday, May 12th from 3-4pm.  This info was not on the May activity calendar that went home.

*Spelling Bee Participants…a detailed letter will be going home with you today.  The letter will also be e-mailed out.

*Book Fees are due to the CCA Office by May 15th.  K4 & K5 is $190, 1st-5th is $240, 6th-8th is $340, 9th is $360.

*4th Grade Chapelwill be Friday, May 19th at 8:10am.

*Juried Art Show will be May 9th (Tues) from 6:30-7:30.

*Yearbook Info:  envelopes & money are due TODAY. Students will receive the yearbook sometime during the last week of school.  Cost is $10 per copy.

*Volunteer Hours…are due to the CCA Office by May 19th.  If all regular and fundraising hours are not completed by the 19th, final grade cards will not be given to your student.

*Early Dismissal:  CCA will dismiss at 11:30 Monday, May 8th to host the West Central MO Spelling Bee.  Please plan to pick your child up that day by 11:30 in normal car line.  No lunch or after school care will be provided.

 

Upcoming Events

*West Central MO Spelling Bee…will be hosted by CCA on Monday, May 8th beginning at 12:30pm.  Congratulations to our CCA representatives:  1st—Taryn Mantonya & Abram Dody, 2nd—Emma Hansen & Chloe Long, 3rd—Gavin Howerton & Kaiden Townsend, 4th—Elijah Griffey & Chloe Lawson, 5th—Mia Bagley & Taylor Bateman, 6th—Kylie Bateman & Martha Fredrickson, 7th—Abraham Griffey & Hailey Scott and 8th—Mason Huff & Isis Johnsen.  CCA will dismiss at 11:30am on May 8th,  Lunch & ASSP will not be provided.  Our spelling bee representatives DO NOT need to attend school from 8-11:30 or make-up work.

*5th Grade Dare Ceremony…will be Thursday, May 11th at 1:40pm in the CCA Gym.  Parents welcome to attend.

*3rd Grade will present the Wax Museum to CCA students & parents in the CCA Lunch room on May 12th (Fri) from 1:30-2:30pm

Upcoming Field Trips

  • 5th Grade: (5/10) will travel by CCA bus to WWI Museum & Money Museum in KC.  Students will depart CCA at 8:55am and return by 3:30pm.  Wear CCA normal school uniforms.  Bring a sack lunch with a drink for lunch.
  • 3rd Grade: (5/10) will travel by FBC bus to the Henry County Museum to present their 3rd Grade Wax Museum to HC Museum visitors.  Students will depart CCA at 12:45am and return by 3pm.  Wear your Wax Museum Costume.
  • 2nd Grade: (5/11) will travel by FBC bus to HC Conservation Dept.  Students will depart CCA at 9:45am and return by 2:20pm.

Wear CCA t-shirt/sweatshirt & jeans and wear tennis shoes.  Bring a sack lunch with a drink for lunch.

  • 6th Grade: (5/11) will travel by cars to Living Waters Ranch, Pizza Hut & Skating Rink from 8am-3pm.  Students should wear

jeans and t-shirts (you may get these clothes dirty, so dress appropriately).

Re: 5th/6th grade English/History Teaching Position…The CCA Board wishes to inform you that Mrs. Pam Mullen is no longer planning

on teaching at CCA this coming school year.  Please contact Mr. Ballard if you know of a certified teacher to fill this open position.

The candidate must be a Christian, be certified, and have a love for teaching English and History.  The candidate would teach 5th grade English, History, and Bible from 8-11:30, and then teach 6th grade English and History from 12-3 each day of the week.  Thank you for praying and partnering with us as we seek God’s candidate for this teaching position at CCA.

Calendar for the Week of May 6th – May 12th    

May 6     4th-8th KC Lutheran Track Meet at Center High School in KC, MO.  No Bus.  Meet begins at 8:30am.  Address is 8715 Holmes Rd, KC, MO

May 8                       11:30am Dismissal; West Central MO Spelling Bee @ CCA.  Bee begins at 12:30pm Sharp!

May 9                       Remax Balloon here for students at 8:10am; CCA Juried Art Show from 6:30-7:30 in the CCA Lunch room.

May 10                    5th Grade to KC, & 3rd Grade to Museum, see above info.

May 11                    2nd Grade to conservation, & 6th to Living Waters, see above info; 5th Grade Dare Ceremony at 1:40pm.  Parents welcome.

May 12                    FCA for Middle School; 7th & 8th to El Camino from 10:45-12:15; 3rd Grade Wax Museum from 1:30-2:30; 4-H at 3pm for K5-8th.
