Parents & students…coming up this week is: the West Central MO Spelling Bee, the Art Show, 2 field trips, 5th Grade Dare ceremony, FCA, 8th Grade Chapel and the 3rd Grade Wax Museum;  please see below.  Remember that all current and future events can be found on the school website: www.clintonacademy.org, under the calendar menu. We have some reminders that we would like to let you know about:

 

*4-H…will be Friday, May 11th from 3-4pm.  This info was not on the May activity calendar that went home.

*Spelling Bee Participants…a detailed letter was e-mailed out to you today and sent home w/students last week.  Please check your e-mail or child’s backpack if you have not yet received this important letter.

*Book Fees are due to the CCA Office by May 15th.  K4/K5 is $200, 1st-4th is $250, 5th-8th is $350, 9th/10th is $370.  Book fees go up $20 after May 15th.

*8th Grade Chapelwill be Friday, May 11th at 8:10am.

*Juried Art Show will be May 8th (Tues) from 6:30-7:30.

*Yearbook Info:  Students who purchased a yearbook will receive those sometime during the last week of school.

*Volunteer Hours…are due to the CCA Office by May 18th.  If all regular and fundraising hours are not completed by the 18th, final grade cards will not be given to your student & arrangements must be made w/Mr. Ballard.

 

 

 

Spelling Bee & Wax Museum Events

*West Central MO Spelling Bee…will be hosted by CCA on Monday, May 7th beginning at 9:30am.  Congratulations to our CCA representatives:  1st—Kalynn Matney & Clara Camden, 2nd—Taryn Mantonya & Sophia Van Natta, 3rd—Addyson Rendoff & Emma Hansen, 4th—Matthew Hansen & Kaiden Townsend, 5th—Elijah Griffey & Peyton Monteer, 6th—Mia Bagley & Taylor Bateman, 7th—Kylie Bateman & Lauren Bagley and 8th—Abraham Griffey & Jon Ferguson.  Our spelling bee representatives will attend school from 8-9, CCA will bus participants to FBC at 9 to compete.  The Spelling Bee will last from 9:30-11:30, then CCA will bus CCA’s Spelling Bee representatives to DQ for lunch.  Spellers can be picked up at DQ at 12:40pm to go home with parents without having to make-up work.  Parents may join us for lunch at noon at DQ.

 

*3rd Grade will present the Wax Museum to CCA students & parents in the CCA Gym on Friday, May 11th from 1:30-2:30pm

 

 

Upcoming Field Trips

  • 3rd Grade: (5/9) will travel by FBC bus to the Henry County Museum to present their 3rd Grade Wax Museum to HC Museum visitors.  Students will depart CCA at 12:45am and return by 3pm.  Wear your Wax Museum Costume.
  • 2nd Grade: (5/11) will travel by cars to HC Library & Clinton Healthcare from 1-2:45pm.  Students should wear CCA t-shirt/sweatshirt & jeans.

Calendar for the Week of May 7th – May 11th    

May 7               West Central MO Spelling Bee; details above.

May 8               Juried Art Show, 6:30-7:30pm, in the CCA Lunch Room.  Snacks & drinks provided.  All invited.

May 9               3rd Wax Museum at HC Museum, details above &  the 5th Grade Dare Ceremony at 2:15pm in the CCA Gym, parents are welcome to attend.

May 10             CCA Women’s Craft Night Out, 6:30-8:30 in CCA Lunch Room, craft supplies & instruction provided.

May 11             8th Grade Chapel, FCA for 789; 2nd field trip, details above; 3rd Grade Wax Museum, details above;

4-H at 3pm for K5-9th.  Mission Day, wear CCA t-shirt/sweatshirt & jeans or uniform shorts to CCA by paying $2 to support our Missionaries
