I'm excited to be an Upper School Resource Teacher this year. I am married with two wonderful boys at CCA.  I believe teaching & parenting is a balance.  We all play a part in helping them learn and prepare for the hard things in life... but we also play a part in showing them the joys of life. I aim to help my students become more capable and to "lean in" to tasks that are difficult for them.  Struggling to climb over obstacles, rather than just avoiding them, builds resilience and helps strengthen character.  Motivation and encouragement is important too!  A runner gets stronger faster by going uphill, but they might stop trying if it was all uphill.  Sometimes they need that little helping push of a downhill to give them motivation for the next hill (and sometimes they just need to stop and bask in the beauty at the top of the hill).

 At CCA, I do appreciate that both educational emphasis and spiritual wellness are important.  I am grateful to have my children and myself in a loving, supporting environment where they are encouraged to seek out God's guidance in all areas of their life.
