Kara Manning

7th/8th History

I earned a B.A. in psychology from the University of Kansas in 2000 and began counseling troubled youth. I then received an opportunity to teach at a Christian school where I discovered my passion for teaching and pursued my Master’s degree in Education. I taught 1st and 2nd grade and middle school reading. After having children I worked as a grant writer for school districts and non-profits and became active in community volunteer work. I was also able to work for an educational company aligning curriculum to state standards and speaking on teaching to multiple intelligences. This will be my 8th year teaching 7th and 8th grade history at CCA.

Outside of school I enjoy reading, volunteer activities, and spending time with friends. My most enjoyable activity is spending time with my husband JD and our three children, Kade, Colten, and Brynn. We have been blessed by their education and spiritual growth here at CCA.
